Environmental policy
At Quick Mart Limited, concern for the environment is a crucial component in our everyday business operations. We always strive to avoid any actions or initiatives that would adversely impact the environment.
In seeking to mitigate the impact of our operations on the environment, Quickmart Limited therefore commits to:
- Comply with the relevant national legislations and align with Good International Industry Practices (GIIP); including the IFC environmental and social performance standards
- Regularly monitor environmental performance across all stores.
- Ensure systems are in place to identify, assess, manage and control all environmental impacts.
- Monitor the use of energy and water resources across all stores and ensure consumption is managed efficiently and sustainably.
- Reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions created by our activities, with particular focus on our logistics and store operations.
This Environmental Policy applies to all Quickmart Limited employees at all levels. All employees therefore have a responsibility to understand, promote, and actively assist in the implementation of this Environmental Policy.
Fire safety policy
At Quickmart Limited, is fully committed to provide a safe and secure work environment for its employees, customers, visitors and contractors against fire and effect of fire.
Quickmart Limited therefore undertakes to:
- Provide adequate resources towards the implementation of fire safety programmes.
- Develop, implement and maintain fire safety systems and programs.
- Clearly identify and allocate roles, and responsibilities regarding fire safety.
- Build employee capacities in fire fighting, emergency response and evacuation.
- Comply with the existing regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Implement preventive and protective measures required to ensure the safety of everyone within its
premises - Conduct fire risk assessment and fire audits at least once in every period of 12 months.
- Regularly inspect all existing firefighting equipment.
- Conduct fire drills at least once in every period of 12 months
- Collaborate and partner with relevant authorities on all issues relating to fire safety.
All employees at all levels are therefore required to comply with the provisions of this policy.
Health and Safety Policy
Quick Mart Limited takes it upon itself to always provide a high standard of health and safety within all its operations. This is integral in ensuring that the company provides excellent working spaces.
The Quickmart Leadership team is committed to this policy and has paved the way for Quickmart employees
at all levels to play their respective roles in minimizing any potentially adverse impacts on health and safety.
The organization will therefore undertake all reasonable and feasible measures to prevent personal injury, damage to property and protect all stakeholders (including customers) from any foreseeable hazards.
Quickmart Limited therefore undertakes to:
a. Prevent all occupational injuries to personnel and consult with employees regarding health and safety.
b. Bring the health and safety policy statement to the attention of all employees.
c. Closely monitor all health and safety plans to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
d. Ensure that all employees work safely and are sufficiently knowledgeable on all potential hazards and how to avoid these hazards.
e. Provide appropriate healthy and safety training to employees.
Its the duty of all employees to:
a. Act responsibly in order to prevent all occupational injuries to themselves, their colleagues and customers.
b. Report incidents that may lead to or that have led to personal injury or property damage.
c. Responsibly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
